Thanks, Carolyn. My life is quite different from 2009 when I first met you on Xanga.
The “pastor” was my dad’s best friend and still handles business related to Dad’s pension for my stepmom. He was one of Dad’s students in the counseling program at the university, and a former priest. I’ve known him for 40 years. We didn’t expect him to walk around like that, but it was interesting and different. The whole ceremony was different from what we expected. We had gone over the program the night before, but then when it started, it flowed very differently. But it was wonderful and unforgettable.
The trio singing were two of my sisters and Alicia’s niece.
The people walking out ahead of us at the end are two of Alicia’s best friends, her brother, and my oldest friend in Medellín. The guy who gave her away is her oldest brother.
We planned a time near the end of the ceremony for people to pray or pronounce blessings. That was possibly the best part of the whole thing.
